The Warm Punch

The warm punch


60 ml Water
30 ml Mansion House French Brandy
30 ml Grape Juice
Peel from one large Orange (cut into large strips)
2 whole Cloves
½ Tsp Vanilla Extract
2 Cardamoms
A small Ginger piece (fresh, peeled, slightly crushed)
½ Tsp Nutmeg (freshly grated)
1 Stick of Cinnamon
1 Tsp Powdered Sugar
Raisins and Almonds for Garnish


In a large pot, heat the water, brandy, and spices, bringing the mixture to a boil.
Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Add the grape juice.
Stir in the sugar and stir for one minute.
Strain out the cloves and orange peel, leaving the other spices behind.
Add raisins and almonds to the glass upon serving.
